The actual fabric is closest to the first two photos and is not as green as the third photos shows. It reminds me of springtime or a vibrant Easter-colored fabric with primary colors of blue, pink and yellow and hints of green orange and purple. It’s a pretty, clean and vibrant fabric.

The actual fabric looks closest to the first two photos and does not look like the third photo. It is mostly a lavender purple color overall with warm and cold area of the lavender purple. Make sure to see the second photo in the listing. There is still a full assortment of rainbow colors in the fabric. It has the most of purple, blue and then green followed by red/pink and then orange/yellow.

This fabrics is closest to the first two photos and is not a brown or quite as dark as the third photo shows. It has a warm beige tone with soft pink-tan highlights and a dry, washed-out light denim blue color in it. In a few places near the edge of the blue, sometimes there is a turquoise green color where the tan and blue meld together. There are evident water spots on the fabric that look like water that has been dropped on the fabric when it was made – these are supposed to be there as a part of the mottle design. The coloring in this fabric covers large areas. If cutting this fabric into smaller pieces, you may only see one color in the fabric. See second photo for a better rendering of the colors and how they are dispersed.

It does not have as much yellow as the first photo shows either – it has a lot of muddied purple-tan color in the background in place of the yellow. There are some creamy-tan-yellow areas as well as some darker gray-purple areas that are strong. It also has small hints of denim blue, moss green, dark lavender, and wet sand brown in it.

The gray color is slightly lighter in person than what shows on my screen and is a medium-light warm color. This fabric is definitely unique and matches IB’s Sticks N Stones collection very well.

UPDATE 11/27/23: See the first two photos: The latest bolt of this fabric is more “muddy” looking and has mauve and green colors that are more muted. There is brown where the mauve and green meld together. This color should be green but it appears more brown in many areas. Most of this fabric is still mauve with only 25%-45% green areas – depending on the cut. The colors are spread out in large areas across this fabric.

This fabric has a lot of color variation in it and the areas of color are quite large. The brightly colored areas are larger than I would normally find on a multicolored watercolor. The red color in this fabric is not as strong/bright in person as it shows on my screen. Overall, this fabric is lighter and brighter than the first photos shows.
UPDATE 9/17/23: The current bolt of this fabric is featured in the first three photos. It’s not as saturated as previous dye lots and has more of the “melded” colors throughout… that gray-ish-tan color between the main colors.

In person, this fabric appears more dusty and lighter in color; less warm and less strong in color; and more vintage/muted/dry colored. The yellow is very light and soft and wintery looking. The green is very much a dusty bluegrass green and the blue hints in the background are wrapped in a powdery soft gray-blue color. The shade of yellow could be considered a yellow-cream color.
