$11.80Hoffman California – 1384-159 Americana – Smoothie Watercolor Batik Fabric

This fabric is mostly blue and turquoise green. It’s only about 15% red. It also has a light creamy yellow color, small areas that appear indigo blue and slight hints of green in it. The actual fabric does look close to the first two photos and is not as red, pretty or as bright as the third photo shows. There are large areas of color in this design and you may not see much red in 1/2-yard cut and you may see much more, depending on the cut of fabric from the bolt. The fabric design appears mottled and mushed in person and it does not have very sharp edged to the darker colors in it. Overall, the fabric gives an “Old Glory” dusty denim turquoise blue color.
NOTE: This fabric feels starchy and is not as soft as I would expect a typical batik to be. Prewashing should be considered to soften it.

This fabric looks like the first two photos and is not as turquoise blue as the third photo shows. It has a light blue-gray-white background with areas that contain a mauve purple-pink color (mostly purple), a very gray-blue color and a touch of grape (cold) purple color. The dots are strong in some areas with dark gray-blue color. Overall, this fabric has a slight purple undertone to it because it’s in both the purple and the blue colors. It is not turquoise-gray-blue. It’s more of a Wintery, snowy, blizzardy color.

The first two photos are ones that I took and the third photo is the manufacturers thumbnail image. The second photo is the view looking at the fabric as wrapped on the bolt and not WOF. There are variations in the batik colors because they are hand dyed. I have matched the colors as closely as possible to m computer screen, but they may vary slightly from what you see on your screen. If you’re unsure about the true color, please contact me directly. This fabric is a lovely crimson red tonal color that is close to a true red color. It is not a magenta pink as the third photo (manufacturers image) shows. The red color is not bright, but it is strong.

The actual fabric looks like the first two photos and is not as green and dull as the third photo shows. The gray background is medium in tone and is fairly neutral or even slightly warm in color. There are some strong areas of peach in the sunflower petals that give this fabric a nice lift of color.

This fabric is a warm gray color with blue, turquoise, purple and indigo dots on top in various sizes. It’s not as green-yellow as the last photo. The third photo is the previous dye lot which was more of a stark light gray that was neutral in tone. The current dye lot is warm with peach undertones like the first two photos. Quite beautiful!
