Haley says while growing up in Vermont, her favorite sign of spring was snowdrop flowers popping out from under the snow. She always found the dichotomy between their delicate looks and their hearty resistance to the bitter cold of the Northeastern winters particularly striking. This quilt is inspired by these blooms, blossoming in the dark and cold, against all odds.

This quilt kit uses fabrics from Island Batik River Valley Collection to create a stunning snowflake design. The River Valley collection color palette of dark greens, blues and cream brings images of evergreen forests of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. The colors also make it well suited for a mature boy’s quilt.
