Flora Blue

by Jacqueline de Jonge

Finished Size: 68” x 68”

Skill Level: 4, Advanced

Pattern Includes: Instructions, Cover Sheet, Yardage Information, and All Foundation Papers.

A few years ago, Jacqueline designed ‘Flora Bella’, a dream of a quilt in beautiful green and warm orange. She was a picture. This year we thought of publishing this fun design again but in an amazing blue collection of beautiful batiks Jacqueline designed for ‘Anthology Fabrics’. We ourselves think she turned out great and the design compliments the beautiful colors of blue reminding us of Delft (the Netherlands), the city where we grew up.

Orange Blossom

by Jacqueline de Jonge

Finished Size: 53.5” x 53.5”

Skill Level: 3, Intermediate

Pattern Includes: Instructions, Cover Sheet, Yardage Information, and Templates.  **Not a Paper-Pieced quilt**

We like to try something different for once and this original design has become ‘Orange Blossom’. Orange Blossom’ is not a paper piecing design. Does that scares you? ‘Orange Blossom’ is an appliqué quilt. So if you like a challenge and are up for something completely new, this fairy tale design is it. With the beautiful flower shape and meandering vines, this design looks like it escaped right out of a fairy tale book.

Feeling Frosty

by Jacqueline de Jonge

Finished Size: 19” x 14.5”

A set of six great placemats. We gave them the fun name “Feeling Frosty” because of the shimmering white “Diamond Dust” fabric. The colors of red and green make these beautiful placemats totally ‘Christmassy’. Complement this base with a sparkly black/silver star fabric and a cheerful red/white stripe and you have a beautiful placemat for your Christmas table.
What more could you want?

by Jacqueline de Jonge

Finished Size: 73” x 73”

Another surprise this year in our collection: ‘Bluebell’. We came up with a beautiful design and created her in our favorite blue fabrics. The design is not really very complicated, although you must be an experienced paper piecer because this is a 4* design. We used blue because we love blue very much, but you can easily imagine this design in green, or red, or pink or purple, you name it. And with a nice BeColourful stripe in your favorite color, you can make this design your own.

Brilliant Beauties of Joy

by Jacqueline de Jonge

Size: 80” x 80”

Skill Level: 5

Pattern Includes: Instructions, Cover Sheet, Yardage Information, and All Foundation Papers.

Brilliant Beauties of Joy is the evolution of the original pattern “Joy,” the pattern that made the start of Be Colourful as a Pattern Company. In 2003, when Jacqueline had a burn out, she was working on a special design with lots of colors and the famous multi-sunflower fabric from Hoffman California. When the quilt was finished, her father insisted on it entering the Open European Quilt Championship, as he was sure that this quilt was so special and unique.

Finally, she agreed and sent the quilt to the OEQC organization. Guess what? She won the Color Trophy that year. And when the quilt was displayed there, people started to ask: “Is there a pattern available??” And this is where it all started!

The quilt has become slightly larger than the original and all the pre-printed foundation papers come with the pattern. It has a “Paint by number” technique for all the foundation points, the rainbow border and detailed fabric/cutting instructions. She made new drawings and made the quilt again with a black background as the original sunflower fabric was so hard to find.

A fabulous quilt of Jacqueline in the bright and colorful Rainbow colors. Inspired by Art Deco, this design is a stunning wall hanging and could easily enlarged to a bed quilt.
It took Jacqueline a while to have the perfect colors for this quilt. There was the design and JJ wants to make this in another color scheme. However, it didn’t work. Finally JJ decided on the rainbow colors. And not a bad choice at all! It’s a beautiful 5* pattern… A challenge, but so worth the effort!

Midnight Stars

by Jacqueline de Jonge

Size: 64” x 64”

Skill Level: 5

Pattern Includes: Instructions, Cover Sheet, Yardage Information, and All Foundation Papers.

Midnight Stars, formerly “Surprisingly Red.”

Surprisingly Red is one of the patterns that has been on the market since the start of BeColourful. Jacqueline made this quilt in first instance in light blue pastels, rose fabrics and warm reds. But the fabrics that she chose for the original quilt are not available anymore so the search for alternative fabrics was almost a mission impossible.

Since this design was so attractive and appealing to many quilters, she decided to re-draw and re-write the entire pattern to live up to your expectations. She also added a beautiful circle with flying geese to it and the quilt was made again with the 24 colors embedded in black. She is sure that these 24 bright colors are widely available and you don’t have to be afraid that the fabrics will be discontinued (and if it does there is always a good substitute available!)

Butterfly Garden

by Jacqueline de Jonge

Size: 65” x 65″

Skill Level: 4

KIT Includes: Pattern (Instructions, Cover Sheet, Yardage Information, and All Foundation Papers) + all fabrics for top and binding

Inspired by the popular design from a few years ago: “Summer Dream“, Jacqueline found the time ripe to redesign this popular design. The fabric she had designed for her own fabric collections from Anthology Fabrics lent itself perfectly to this quilt. The small butterflies and beautiful flowers also inspired her in the name “Butterfly Garden”.

The design is not very complicated and the beautiful star in the middle lends itself perfectly to beautiful colors. We can imagine that you can easily make this design in countless great color combinations.

We’re in love the fabulous quilt work from Cindy Glancy of Dancing Thread Long-Arm Quilting.
